    Iona University’s NSF Noyce INSTRUCT Scholars offers scholarships to rising juniors and seniors who are applying to the Accelerated 4+1 programs for future STEM teachers:

    BS Chemistry/MST

    BS Biology/MST

    BS Mathematics/MST

    BA Mathematics/MST

    For each year of scholarship support accepted, the Noyce scholar agrees to work as a full-time teacher for 2 years in a qualifying district of their choosing (not limited to NY).     Please read the important details and qualifying criteria.
    • Eligible scholarship recipients include:
      • Currently enrolled Iona undergraduate students who are rising Juniors or Seniors in a math, biology, or chemistry major
      • Westchester Community College AAS graduates who will complete the mathematics, biology, or chemistry baccalaureate degree at Iona
      • Transfer students from other colleges in a math, biology, or chemistry major
    • Scholarship recipients must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or permanent resident aliens.
    • Scholarship recipients must be undergraduate students who have attained at least junior status in a Noyce-eligible STEM baccalaureate degree program (BS or BA in mathematics, biology, or chemistry) AND must qualify for acceptance into the 4+1 combined BS/MST or BA/MST program at Iona. 
    • Scholarship recipients will be selected primarily based on academic merit, with consideration given to financial need and the diversity of participants in the program.  
    • Individuals who have previously served (including concurrent service) as a K-12 teacher are not eligible for scholarship or support.
    Noyce Scholarships are available up to $20,000 annually (for up to two years) for Juniors and Seniors and $15,000 for graduate students (for one year). One of the Noyce Scholarship program’s goals is to assist in providing scholarship support up to free tuition and fees for each award year when combined with other available scholarships and grants.
